Viking

I drew this for the epic art challenge blog to hopefully start a drawing club with people in my animation class.

City in Flames

This is the first inked piece I did since my mini comic in the summer. I wanted to do something scifi.

Giant robots!

Been a long time. This drawing was inspired by the Transformers movies.

More Animation Life Drawings

So far these 3 are my favorite life drawings.

First Life Drawings from Animation School

These are some pages from the first 3 life drawing classes of year 1. Way better start compared to Fundies. Hopefully I'll keep getting better by year 4. I should look back at this post when I graduate and do a comparison with my last life drawings to see how much I improve.

Also, the times for these poses are either 1, 3 or 5 minutes. We do a ton of 30 second poses too, but those aren't worth photographing. Pretty intense!

Digital Tools Nameplate

Just finished this nameplate for Digital Tools class. The concept was me fighting off an animation paper monster because animating feels like an intense battle! The background is based off the Maya grid & perspective view. I started learning Maya for environment art this week, so I thought it would be neat to show that off in the image.

Roughs for Layout Class

4 pages of roughs for layout class. So far we had to draw a character with some background elements. My personal favorite is the pirate in #2.

New Art and 1 Week till School!

I made this fan art of Cervantes a few days ago for a contest on this DeviantArt group.

Also I can't believe animation starts in a week! It'll be interesting to look back at the stuff I draw now and compare it to what my art will look like after the program. After 4 years of school I better improve. But I should because I have a lot of room for improvement.

Cervantes is from Soul Calibur and is © Namco.

Kung Pooh

I was looking through my old sketchbooks today and I found a drawing of Winnie the Pooh practicing martial arts. I thought it was funny, so I decided to post it here!

Digital Painting

Digital painting is fun!

This is from a photo my mother took on her vacation. I think it's Nova Scotia. It was a good study of rocks and water.

A screenshot study from the movie "Snatch". I have no idea what the movie's about, but it was a great value study, haha. Photoshop crashed 7 times when I was working on this, but I think repainting the same thing over and over helped me become more efficient. Still, I would prefer Photoshop not crashing.

Another movie I never saw, "Predators". I saw the first Predator movie and it was great, so I might watch this some day.

My paintings are a mess without reference.

Two characters. The first guy is a superhero I designed as part of a superhero team and the girl was  for a post-apocalyptic story.

Sketch Dump

Just dumping some sketches I did a while ago so there's stuff here other than my portfolio. In the next post I will have some digital paintings.

Sometimes I like using brush pen:

Sheridan Animation Portfolio

If you scroll down you can see my animation portfolio for getting into the first year at Sheridan. I redid it like a dozen times which is good because it's way better than my first portfolio! I got lots of help from some people at Sheridan, especially my tutor. Thanks!

I ended up with a 3.71 which was higher than I expected, haha (I got around a 2.2 my first try). I think I really improved after studying and drawing more for an entire year. Art just takes time to master.
